Employment no longer really means finding organizations to higher you, but rather finding clients to engage you. The more clients that engage you the more returns you make.
Note: The truth is, no Organisation is meant to high you. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines Organisation as a company, business, club, etc., that is formed for a particular purpose. Their aim is not you first, but could add a little value, so it solely depend on YOU. It's God who elevates one's standard & He has embedded all inside you.
So employment would mean taking your value (product or service) to the place where a mass number of people can patronize you (engage you).
But my concern is too many of us stop at being Self Employed, very few move to the quadrant of being Business Owners, and I would tell you the difference.
1. Self employed people are those who have some clients engaging them. They show up, supply their value (product or service) and get paid for it, so they make money off their presence and efforts.
An example is the carpenter you engaged last week, who doesn't work for anybody (self employed) but needed to show up himself, do your job and took his pay for service rendered.
So self employed people function effectively with their personal Money, Time and Efforts
Therefore they are 'SELF' sufficient.
2. Business owners on the other hand are those who have clients engaging their systems (business systems). They don't need to show up to supply their values, their systems (business structure) supply their services without them being directly involved. So they make money off their business structure. An obvious example is Dangote Group, you patronize them on a daily basis and yet you have never met Mr. Dangote (and some may never).
So business owners function effectively with Other People's Money-OPM, Other People's Time-OPT and Other People's Efforts OPE.
Therefore they are 'BUSINESS' sufficient and not self sufficient.
Business owners influence people to use their Time , Effort & Money to achieve a desired result. This is Leverage & Business is Leverage.
