The highest and main
purpose of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is fellowship. What does this mean?
According to the Cambridge
Dictionary fellowship a group of people or an organization with the same purpose (why we do the things because of the oneness we share).
So I will
define fellowship in the following ways; First, it means a call
to oneness, a family relationship, a unity of spirit, a joint-partnership,
where everything that belongs to Him belongs to you, and everything that
belongs to you belongs to Him. Can you imagine that God calls us into such a
fellowship where everything He owns belongs to us as much as it belongs to Him?
It’s what Jesus came to achieve for us.
1 Cor 1:9 says
"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son
Jesus Christ our Lord. Fellowship is a relationship of the
inner unity among believers that expresses itself in outer co-participation
with Christ and one another in accomplishing God’s will on earth.”
Some people always see
themselves as ever needing God, the ever-ready supplier, whom they have to beg
continually to get something. They think He holds back, while trying to find
out who deserves His help. That’s a wrong idea about Jesus and our heavenly
Father. That’s not the picture the Bible paints at all. The Gospel of Jesus
Christ is far beyond the matter of sin and salvation from sin.
We couldn’t come into
that fellowship until, first and foremost, we were given a new life. He died
for our sins to make it possible for us to have it. Salvation from sin was,
therefore, a means to an end, not His primary purpose for coming. The end
purpose was fellowship.
Our message in
Christianity isn’t, “He came to die for our sins”; rather it’s, “Receive the
life that Jesus has brought and walk in victory.” 1st John 1:2 says “For the
life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you
that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;”
The Gospel is God’s
call to fellowship. The foregoing scripture, as simple as it is, is probably
the most important thing anyone would ever discover on earth. It should be, of
course; because it encapsulates the totality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That’s what it’s about. It’s the reason Jesus came.
Benefits
of Fellowship
- Fellowship brings and installs oneness in the body of Christ and makes brethren to be inspired and want to do more for Christ and the Gospel
- Fellowship is the indispensable means of accomplishing the God-given Purpose together. Fellowship brings opinion and ideas of individual in a congregation or in an organization to think in one direction in solving and issue or a challenge to achieve their set goals.
- Fellowship brings togetherness in an organization to stay focuse ton accomplished a task. See we can do a lot if we have the purpose of fellowship and continually inspiring each other, we could do a lot in the course of publishing the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ
- Fellowships install and increase the love of God in the heart of man and to stay focus on our set target of publishing the Gospel. The Gospel is love and love is an action, so the Gospel is for doing
- Fellowship bring orderliness in an organization or in the House of God
- Fellowship promote peace because ther is oneness of mind and everyone wants to get the same result. The Gospel to the whole World and it’s the only saving power for all mankind.
- Fellowships encourage and teach us to be joyous and be in health.
- Fellowship creates great rooms for opportunities for members and to all those that believe in the course
Conclusion
So let’s pull together.
Let everyone practice fellowship as naturally as did those on the day of
Pentecost that the many-faceted wisdom of God might be made known through this
church
