About two weeks ago residents of Ekiti state carried on an anti-Buhari protest, and now they are back on the street. This time, they are holding an anti-corruption in support of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Students, youths, commercial drivers, artisans, and traders took part on yesterday 6th July protests alongside members of civil society organizations.

Many of the protesters were led by some leaders of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in Ekiti state.


Addressing the protesters, Kemisola Olaleye, the Ekiti state APC deputy chairperson, accused Governor Fayose of using immunity to shield himself from his acts of impunity, adding that the people of the state were tired of his government.


“We are tired of the one day, one problem of the Ayodele Fayose-led administration in Ekiti state and we also don’t want him as our governor (anymore),” she said.

Also speaking, Olaoluwa Samuel, the contact and mobilization leader of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ekiti state, asked the EFCC and other anti-graft agencies in the country to thoroughly probe Fayose’s administration


Ekiti state residents hold anti corruption rally against Governor Fayose. Recall that on Friday, June 24, protesters, who were led by a coalition of society groups, took to the street to express their disappointment with Governor Fayose’s inability to pay workers salary for several months.

Days after, they protested against President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress and in total support of the administration of Governor Fayose.
