Thursday 30th March Update of Jamb
The Director of Information, JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said: “There is no going back from the Computer Based Testing, CBT.”
According to him, the clarification became necessary following the misleading caption in the front page of yesterday’s Nation Newspaper that “JAMB dumps CBT, adopt eight keys”
He said: “The headline was not only misleading but capable of causing panic, distortion and confusion in the minds of Nigerians particularly the candidates planing to take the UTME examination of a well conceived CBT examination which the Board was consolidating on the gains and feat recorded.”
Wednesday 29th March Jamb Update
The Joint Admission and Matriculation and Matriculation board sent out a series of vital tweets Wednesday. Below is a copy of the message sent out to JAMB 2017 candidates;
Our Attention has been drawn to cases of candidates who have bought ePINS and were not able to proceed with their registration.
- This was caused essentially by A very high rate of candidates buying ePINS without creating their profile first.
- Incorrect email address provided at the bank teller.
- Recent enforcement of email validation of candidates emails. Candidates who have not created their profile properly would be affected.
- Unforeseen technical issues in the PIN vending system.
JAMB hereby advises all candidates as follows:
Candidates are NOT to buy new pins in the case of invalid pins. The cause of the invalid pin has been investigated
1. All candidates having invalid pins responses av been captured on d system nd wil receive their PIN details on or before Monday 27th March
2. Emails with candidate name, email and valid pins will be sent to candidates before Monday 27th March 2017
JAMB therefore has taken the following steps to ensure the continuation of the registration process.
- All candidates MUST create their profiles before proceeding to buy the ePIN. The ePIN vendors (Banks) can create the profile before vending the pin.
- Each candidate’s email address will now be verified on the system before ePINS are vended.
- Any candidate with an incorrect email address will not be served. It therefore requires entering the same valid email address twice.
- All candidates are to ensure that they provide valid phone numbers.
- Candidates are encouraged to utilise only Jamb accredited Centers (Check our previous post
- No one should patronize fraudsters, many of whom are now in Police custody. Only CBT Centers accredited by JAMB can do valid registration.
- Please write us directly if you are charged above the Board’s official fee. Please contact us on http://support.jamb.org.ng
