WINNING WAYS PRINCIPLE: The Unprofitable Price of Lateness to Meetings

Ever since I was born, I have not seen many people arrived late to the airport when the person is travelling. In fact, when the plane is taking off at 11:00pm, the person will be at the airport by 7:00pm, wow! That's how much people value travelling overseas. But on a Sunday morning when Church has long begun, that's when you see men and women with 'swag' gliding like pregnant serpents to Church, they know they are late, but because they have a new Armani Suit on and the latest Michael Kors Bag, they want everyone to see it. Church starts at 7:00 or 8:00am, but people will come at 10:00am, why?

They think praise and worship is for the uncivilized. Just take the test to call them on Monday at 5:30am, you'll realize they are already on their way to work and some will be there already. Know this today, anytime you go to Church one minute late, you have NOT attended Church at all.

There is a register of God, where angels record the name of those who come on time, and you'll be surprised that in Heaven they will tell you, you never attended Church. If Christ is saying 'where two or three are gathered, I'm in their midst', you think He comes late?

The time you give is the time He keeps. God is never late God remember!

What does it mean to arrive late to Church?

1) Disrespect to Christ

2) Betrayal of Christ

3) Disregard to the Church and the Pastor

4) Interruption of an eternal Program.

Many churches (including the one I worship) go through periods of time where people begin showing up to services late. I believe there are no excuses for getting late to any appointment, and less excuses if the appointment is to visit the house of God.

Reasons and Type of People That Consistently Late To Church

Those that are not in Active Department: These sets of people in the church never want to be serving the house of God. Each time they are asked to join a department they give beautiful excuses and some even thinks the time they will use in serving in the house of god is supposed to be their resting times they don’t have time, so they come late to Church Regularly because of their laziness

Those Who Are Late For everything: Some people are late because they’re just really bad at being on time. They’re late to everything: doctor appointments, their own wedding, and work (just name it). I don’t know if there’s any hope for these people.

Those Who Never Ashamed For Ever Being Late: They are already used to it and are never ashamed coming late to church. You will see them confidently bounce into the church. Some will even come late and start shaking hands greeting those involved in the same act as if their presence demand royal attention.

Those Who Have Little Regard For God: Speaking of those who walk into
church late. Not everyone gets stuck in traffic or woke up late. This show their regard for God. In fact, if going somewhere to worship God is important, then people should arrive early. It seems completely disrespectful to me when people walk into the auditorium 1 or 2 hours into the service.

Those Who Think They Have Little Or No Problem: Some people believe that those who are poor and in need of money, prosperity and material things often go to church early to make their supplication to God. Therefore, they attend church late because they are comfortable with their finance, situation and everything that surround them

Because They Want To Skip Some Certain Activities: There are those who wants to skip some certain activities such as given, worship. This set of people rather take their time in getting to church by deliberately delay their coming on time.

Those Who Spend More Time Making-up: It often takes much longer for these ones to get dressed than anticipated (especially for the ladies). They will spend time applying make-up and other perishable parameters after woke up late.

Those Who Have No Reason For Being Late: It is a strange phenomenon. People who are never late for work, school, and interview will come in 10 minutes to the end of the service and thinks it’s okay, nothing is wrong and if you ask them they will proudly tell you they are coming or going to Church. They don't think the habit of being late for church is a deadly.

Those Who Give Excuse For Everything: This set of people consistently come late to every meeting and gives several excuses for failure. They will give excuse just to suit the listener. These people will always have a reason to justify their lateness. E.g, I was busy pressing my clothes, I got dressed on time but couldn't find my Bible and so on and so forth

Those Who Are Probably Hear Only The Message: This set of people only wants to hear the Sermon from the Man of God. That thinks the rest activities are not needful and they want to only identify with the word only. Also some just like the Pastor and want hear only him and will come when he/she is on stage. Also there are some that don’t want to hear the word of God for reason best known to them.

Those Who Are Not Prepared For Anything: These people are never prepare for anything, they are never prepare for       Church Services, lectures, interviews and so on and so forth

Now consider all these, and tell me they have not sinned. Remember, Eternity's Flight is not a flight taking you to overseas; it's a flight taking you to Heaven. Don't miss it!

There are a lot of people who are planning to go to Church late this Sunday. Let this message hit them.
